Terms of useUpdated 11 September 2026

What this site is, and the weight you can put on it.

The important clause is the second one. Nothing published here is advice about your obligations, and the readiness check is not an audit.

01Terms

1. Using this site

These terms apply to TuringDock's website. Using it means accepting them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. We may change the site or these terms, and the date above moves when we do.

2. Not advice, and no relationship is formed

Everything published here is general information about Canada's anti money laundering regime. It is not legal advice, not compliance advice, and not a regulatory opinion, and reading it does not create a professional or advisory relationship between us. Your obligations depend on your sector, your business and your facts. Decisions about them should be made with your own counsel or compliance advisor.

3. The readiness check

The check at /assessment is a self assessment tool. It is not an audit, not an effectiveness review under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, and not evidence of compliance. It covers twelve obligations chosen because they are commonly examined, which is a deliberate subset and not the full regime.

Its output reflects only the answers you give it. A result showing no gaps does not mean your program is compliant, and it cannot be relied on in front of a regulator, an auditor or a banking partner. Nothing it produces is a substitute for the review the Act actually requires.

4. Accuracy and regulatory sources

Statements about FINTRAC obligations, deadlines and penalties are drawn from FINTRAC's published guidance and were verified on the date shown in the references at the foot of the home page. Regulations change, and they changed substantially in 2025 and 2026. Always check the current source, which we link directly for that reason. Where this site and FINTRAC's guidance disagree, FINTRAC's guidance governs.

Figures on this site are either public record with a citation or visibly marked illustrative. Illustrative figures are invented for explanation and describe no real company.

5. Our content

The text, design, photography and code of this site belong to TuringDock. You may read, print and share pages for your own or your organisation's internal use, including circulating the readiness check findings internally. Do not republish the content as your own or resell it. Material quoted from FINTRAC remains the property of its publisher and is linked to source.

6. Availability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or error free, and we may change or remove any part of it.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, TuringDock is not liable for loss arising from reliance on this website or the readiness check, including regulatory penalties, examination findings or business losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Paid engagements are governed by their own written agreement, which takes precedence over these terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute.
